Description
The Dorotea Rescue Service, where Dorotea municipality is the principal, is responsible for the rescue service in Dorotea and Borgafjäll. The mission of the rescue service is to increase safety and reduce vulnerability to unwanted events and to prevent accidents for those who live, work, or visit the municipality.
On-call rescue personnel are an important part of the Swedish rescue service and a vital resource for accident prevention, as well as working with fire extinguishing, rescue operations in traffic accidents, spill clean-up, alarms during cardiac arrests, and more. You will become part of a profession whose common task is to ensure that the consequences of fires and other accidents are minimized.
Job Responsibilities
We are now looking for you who want to become on-call rescue personnel (part-time firefighter) alongside your regular job at the fire station in Dorotea. As on-call rescue personnel, you have another employer but must quickly report to the fire station in case of alarms about fires or other accidents. You will be on-call weekly (168 hours) and must be able to respond from the fire station within 6 minutes. You need to live and/or work close enough to meet the response time. If you are unsure about the response time, please contact the information below. You will receive the training and practice you need from us. You will be paid during training and exercises. Exercises take place in the evenings. We cover the driving license training for C-class (heavy vehicle).
Qualifications
You who are applying should:
- be at least 18 years old.
- have a B driver's license (preferably a C driver's license)
- pass a physical work test (treadmill test).
- be able to reach the fire station where you are stationed within 6 minutes in case of an alarm.
- have a certificate from your regular employer stating that you can leave your workplace during regular working hours in case of an alarm.
- undergo and pass medical checks applicable to rescue personnel.
- as part of the recruitment process, you will undergo various tests, and you will be contacted for dates for these if you are considered interesting for the Dorotea rescue service.
As a firefighter within the Dorotea rescue service, you are an ambassador for the organization in your interactions with the municipality's residents. Therefore, it is important that you are communicative and professional in your approach. As a person, you should also be secure, stable, and responsible. You work effectively in a team and enjoy solving tasks together with others. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability in this recruitment. Conditions
You will be employed as on-call rescue personnel according to the applicable RiB agreement, which provides an income of approximately 90,000 SEK/year.
